Chhattisgarh: Bijapur blast, 4 BSF jawans including six injured

Raipur: In Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, the Maoists have damaged a truck by exploding in a landmine. Six people, including five security personnel, were injured in the incident.
Senior police officials of the state said here on Wednesday that the Maoists exploded in the landmine in Bijapur valley towards Bhopalpatnam, about seven km from Bijapur district headquarters.

Officials said that after the first phase of polling on 12th of this month in the area, security forces are being evacuated from there.
Today, when the force personnel were riding in a vehicle, the Maoists exploded in the landmine in the Bijapur Valley.
Four BSF jawans, a DRG jawan and a civilian truck driver were injured when the blast took place.
He informed that after receiving information about the incident, additional force was released for the area and the injured were admitted to the hospital.
Officials said that the campaign against Naxalites was continuing in the area.

Elections were
held for the assembly in Chhattisgarh that many encounters had happened ven on polling day . During the first phase of polling on Monday, encounters with the Maoists was also done. In Bijapur district, five security personnel, including two CRPF officers, were injured in separate encounter between Central Reserve Police Force and Naxalites. On the day of polling, 7 Naxalites were killed during an encounter with security forces.
